All of my small group classes are excellent ways to learn bicycling, build community, and have fun. Here is a list of classes that you can choose from. I can customize any of my classes to meet the needs of your group. Don't see a class that meets your group's needs, contact me so we can make one for you!
Go By Bike: Bicycling Traffic Safety
In Go By Bike: Bicycling Traffic Safety, you’ll develop your knowledge and expertise in the craft and science of bicycling—the ability to use a bicycle with confidence and competence for pleasure, transportation, and sport under various highway, climate, terrain, and traffic conditions. You’ll learn these skills with classroom instruction, parking lot drills, and on-road riding. Go By Bike; Bicycling Traffic Safety is available to anyone, no matter your physical fitness level or experience on a bike.
10 hour class, broken into two 5-hour sessions, or four 2.5-hour sessions, depending on your needs. $100 per person. Minimum of 4 students, max of 6. For adults 18+. Participants should be able to balance and ride on a 2-wheel bike.

TeenRide
Just for teens! Don’t have a car? Don’t want one? Still want to get around without having to bum rides from friends or have your parents tote you around? Want to get on a bike but aren’t sure you feel safe out on the road? In TeenRide, you’ll discover the freedom and independence that comes with riding a bike, all while learning how to ride safely and with confidence in any road situation. During this course, you’ll:

10-hour class, tailored for your group. This could be done as a 5-day class that meets after school, as a 2-day class on a weekend, or a 5-day "summer camp" activity. $150 per person. Minimum of 4, max of 6. For teens ages 14-18. Participants should be able to balance and ride on a 2-wheel bike.

- practice how to fix a flat tire,

- learn how to make sure your bike is safe and ready to ride, and

Urban Cycling for Fun and Survival
Confusing streets, big trucks, distracted motorists, jaywalking pedestrians, potholes, and bad weather are just some of the challenges today’s bicyclist faces in cities. In Urban Bicycling for Fun and Survival, you’ll not only learn how to safely deal with these and many other challenges, you’ll learn how to have fun pedaling through the city. In Urban Bicycling for Fun and Survival, you’ll deepen your safe cycling knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, parking lot drills, and on-road riding. We’ll be riding the streets of your town on the first day of class, and then we'll go to a nearby major city for the second day of class. Urban Bicycling for Fun and Survival is available to people who have successfully completed Go By Bike: Bicycling Traffic Safety, or by instructor permission.

Bicycling with Owls: Riding at Night
When the sun goes down do you leave your bike at home? Afraid to venture out on your bike after dark? Not sure how to keep yourself safe while riding at night? In Riding with Owls: Bicycling at Night, you’ll learn how to ride with safety and confidence at night, and have a great time doing it! You’ll discover that riding at night means less traffic, cooler temperatures, and different sights and sounds to enjoy. You’ll also learn how to see and be seen while riding at night, and what to be aware of after the sun goes down. In Riding with Owls: Bicycling at Night, you’ll deepen your safe cycling knowledge and skills through classroom instruction, parking lot drills, and on-road riding. We’ll be riding the streets of your town and surrounding areas in both urban and rural environments. Riding with Owls: Bicycling at Night is available to people who have successfully completed Go By Bike: Bicycling Traffic Safety, or by instructor permission.

Fix a Flat: Changing a Tire without Losing your Mind
Is the fear of a flat tire keeping your bike in the garage? Don’t want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere when your tire springs a leak? In Fix a Flat: Changing a Tire Without Losing Your Mind, you’ll learn one of the essential skills every person who rides a bike needs to know. You’ll learn:

Fix a Flat: Changing a Tire Without Losing Your Mind is available to anyone, no matter your physical fitness level or experience on a bike. Bring your own flat tires and punctured tubes to fix, or practice on ours!
3-hour class. $50 per person. Minimum of 4, max of 6. For teens and adults, ages 14+.
- how to avoid getting a flat in the first place,
- how to safely remove, fix, and replace a punctured tube,
- how to properly inflate your tires,
- how to recognize tire wear and damage,
- the different kinds of tires, tubes, and tire repair gear available, and
- how to deal with unusual tire failures on the road.
You’ll learn these skills with classroom instruction and direct, hands-on practice working with several kinds of tires. Fix a Flat: Changing a Tire Without Losing Your Mind is available to anyone, no matter your physical fitness level or experience on a bike. Bring your own flat tires and punctured tubes to fix, or practice on ours!

Payment for classes is due at the start of class by cash, check, or credit card. Cancellation by a participant within 24 hours of a class will be charged as if the class had occurred. Cancellation of a class by me will not incur charges to participants, and/or will be refunded by me. Classes held outside Kitsap County, WA will be charged a nominal travel fee, depending on where the class is.
