Bicycling should be about freedom, not fear.

Riding a bike shouldn't be scary, but for millions of people it is.  I teach you how to use your bike safely and effectively so you can ride wherever and whenever you want, without fear.
Here's a helmet-cam video of a Level 2 class riding across Redmond Way on the last day of class.  Many of these folks had only just learned to ride a bike recently in my Level 1 class.  Now look at them go!  You can learn to ride anywhere.

"Thank you for teaching me how to ride bike and follow rules and go on trails and traffic. It was pleasure learning from you and gained lot of skills and looking forward to learn more from you in the future." - S. G., 2018

"Brian, I appreciate all the time, effort and expertise that you brought to this class. It has given me the confidence I was looking for!" - C.P., 2022

Here's me, riding around my neighborhood.  Riding a bike brings me joy, and it is my mission to help you experience the same thing.  Let me know how I can help you achieve your bicycling dreams.

Welcome to BicycleTeacher.

My name is Brian Watson, and my mission with BicycleTeacher is to help you become a more confident, effective, and safe bicyclist.   I offer small-group classes and individualized coaching to anyone who wants to ride safely, no matter your age, fitness level, or how fancy your bike is.  I have found that there is a lot more to riding a bike than being able to balance on two wheels.   I use a welcoming, affirming, hands-on teaching style to help you achieve your goals as a bicyclist.  Whether you ride often and have a lot of experience on a bike,  haven't been on a bike since you were a kid, or have never ridden a bicycle, I can help you learn how to get around on 2-wheels and experience the freedom and joy of riding a bike.

Bicycling should be about freedom, not fear.

In the years that I've been teaching bicycling safety, I've discovered two things:

1.  Lots of people want to ride a bike.
2.  Lots of people are afraid to ride a bike.

I teach bicycling safety in private, one-on-one sessions, customized to your needs and goals, as a coach and consultant.  I start my coaching from where you are, and working together, I guide you as you work toward your goals.  I also teach bicycling safety to small groups, in which each participant can receive individual attention.  Working with you, I can come to your business, cycling club, scout troop, church group, union, school or university group to teach a bicycling safety class that meets your needs and goals.

Let's get started...

"Thank you Brian for everything that you have done for me and my family. Your classes have changed our lives completely. Words can not express how grateful i am to all your hard work.
I didn't even use my car at all today! Me and my girl biked to the library, to lunch and run a quick grocery trip, and all on my bike.
I never thought that i would be able to do it and yet here I am thanks to your teachings" -R.P.R., 2018

"Thank you again for a wonderful class.  Exceeded my hopes for a valuable positive learning experience." - L.C., 2022

"It has always been a goal of mine to learn how to ride a bike, but I was afraid and felt intimidated.  This summer, I decided to take a chance and sign up for a bike lesson with Brian Watson, which was the best decision.  He provided explicit, easy-to-follow instruction and was very patient, and I overcame my fear of riding the bike.  And because of this class, I enjoy riding my bike and feel very confident as a rider."  Megan B., 2022
